Beth Anne - I have used the Scardey Cat Reading program. It's fun, user friendly and a great way to learn the alphabet, sounds, lower/uppercase letters, etc. It's written by Joyce Herzog; google her name and you should find her website.
Beth Anne,
There are a ton of curriculums out there; just do a google search for kindergarten homeschool curriculum. But mostly, you just need to find a good way to introduce letter sounds and early reading skills. You can use library books to accomplish this if packaged curriculums seem beyond your budget. Kindergarten is a great time to just read books together. Practice letter sounds and learn to write them (and numbers). And mostly, have fun investigating things that sound fun and interesting. Make things. Play games. Take walks. Enjoy discovery! God bless you with your decision!
I just took my 6 year old son out of school. I seen negative things right away and decided for now home-based school would be the right way.I just need an affordable teaching and learning plan. Does anyone know of very low cost books or what I will need for Kindergarten?
Maren; this is a great question, and to follow it up I'm going to post my response on the blog. Hop on over to An-Apple-a-Day. Thanks for signing the guest book!

Sorry didn't look before I sent that. I would like to know if socialization a problem? Does it starve them or prevent them from having opportunities to have close friends?
